Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a growing, dynamic and innovative chartered accountancy practice based in Hertfordshire to recruit a Personal Tax Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and collaborative tax team within a firm that is continually developing new ideas and services to better support its clients.
 
Working closely with senior tax leaders and colleagues across the firm, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality personal tax services while contributing to a positive and supportive team environment.
 
The role:
You will take responsibility for a varied personal tax portfolio, including more complex clients, and provide both compliance and advisory support. This is a client-facing role offering the opportunity to build strong relationships and identify tax planning opportunities, while mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members.
 
Your responsibilities as a Personal Tax Manager will include:

• Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients.
• Preparing and reviewing personal, partnership and trust tax returns.
• Liaising with clients to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Identifying tax planning opportunities and supporting their implementation.
• Reviewing technical work prepared by junior team members.
• Assisting with HMRC enquiries and compliance matters.
• Collaborating with colleagues across the firm on advisory and project work.

 
To be considered for this Personal Tax Manager role, you will ideally have:

• CTA qualification or equivalent.
• Post-qualification experience within a personal tax environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of personal tax and related matters.
• Experience managing a client portfolio and supervising junior staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good IT skills and experience using tax software.
