About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Housing Options Officer to join a proactive East London local authority. You will act as the Lead Professional Officer, interviewing and managing a caseload of households who have approached the council for support, helping to prevent or relieve homelessness wherever possible.
You will provide robust housing advice, identify suitable options, and ensure compliance with statutory duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of clients seeking homelessness assistance
• Conduct interviews and complete detailed assessments
• Deliver homelessness prevention and relief duties in line with legislation
• Provide tailored housing options advice and support
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with partner agencies
• Work effectively under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
• Maintain accurate case notes and administrative records

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Housing Options Officer within a UK local authority
• Strong knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and case management skills
• Ability to work independently and handle a varied caseload
