Local Authority Housing Advice Officer, Buckinghamshire 
Pay rate to £25.50 per hour 
Contract role, Local Government Housing 
Aylesbury or High Wycombe locations 
  
We are recruiting for an experienced Housing Advice Officer in the Buckinghamshire area 
Responsibilities include: 
  • To provide a statutory homelessness and housing advice service in relation to preventing homelessness and statutory homelessness assessments. Also, to assist senior officers and managers. (This involves fulfilling statutory duties under the Housing Act 1996 (as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017) including actions to prevent homelessness, the preparation and publication of personalised Homelessness Prevention Plans). 
  • To deliver a comprehensive, customer focussed and high-quality service in relation to housing options and homelessness prevention tailored for a diverse client group including vulnerable and disadvantaged persons and households 
  • To prevent homelessness through the thorough resolution of casework by undertaking comprehensive housing needs assessments and identifying and undertaking the appropriate actions 
  • Plan and organise work to efficiently deliver specialised advice and support to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring wellbeing of vulnerable customers. 
  • Assess and determine eligibility of customers for financial and / or housing support, within legislation, regulations and policies. 
  • Make detailed inquiries to relevant agencies in order to verify and obtain required information. Interpret and analyse information to aid own decision making. 
  
This is a contract role, and you will need to have experience in a similar Local Authority role.
