Job Description
This role will be 60% of the time in the field and 40% of the time in the office.
Once fully trained, you will be included in an out-of-hours rota.
What you will be doing as a Field Operations Specialist
- Coordinating complex planned and reactive technical activities to ensure maximum effectiveness and minimal customer impact.
- Provide technical support to conclude solutions to problems and ensure a robust, stable, and efficient network.
- Provide information on required maintenance and improvement to the Network Strategy function and assist with contingency planning.
- You will be the main point of contact for any emergency works required in your area and will be accountable for ensuring that contractors are working safely and in compliance with business procedures.
- Plan and team up with our delivery partners to deliver asset maintenance activity.
- Contractor auditing, ensuring that all works are being completed to the Thames Water standards and in line with compliance.
- Deliver event crisis management plans, minimising service interruptions and impact on Thames Water customers.
- Work alongside the field teams and the customer solution centre to identify the cause of complex/difficult problems and find a suitable resolution.
Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Requirements for the role: Full clean UK driving licence
What you should bring to the role
- Good technical civils experience, ideally in Waste infrastructure, would be beneficial but not essential.
- Skilled in finding cost-conscious solutions to complex network issues.
- Have a zero-compromise approach to health and safety, and must be persistent in your methods.
- Full UK driving license is essential.
- Have previous experience working with and managing the activities of third-party contractors.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills to interact with your colleagues and customers/stakeholders.
- Competent at using appropriate company IT systems and Microsoft Office software.
- Offering a salary of up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus a car allowance on top.
- Comprehensive training, PPE and tools are provided.
- Annual Leave 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
- Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution.
