Job Description
As the successful candidate, you will develop and coordinate an operational service team comprising network service technicians, coordinators, planners and team managers working on the Thames Water network, trunk mains and assets.
Your team will be offering the wider business rapid response service, high-consequence valve inspections and servicing.
You will also be supporting the Network Asset Maintenance team, offering network service resources for asset upgrade and replacement activities.
In addition to offering services to my internal client, you will also be supporting Thames Water's alliance delivery partners.
In addition to offering enabling network services for network asset upgrades and replacements, your team will own the end-to-end process of network infrastructure upgrades, replacements and re-sites to allow the successful delivery of network services delivered by your team.
- Monday – Friday 36 hours per week, 7:30- 15:36, plus the potential of a standby rota for which you will receive an additional payment
- A car allowance is provided with this role
- Health, Safety and Wellbeing - responsible for effectively managing the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of all the people in my team, and all those working on the Network.
- Customer – responsible for ensuring my team delivers an exceptional service to our customers, ensuring that they trust us, they feel we are Easy to do business with and that we care.
- Financial Management – responsible for owning and managing the budgetary and financial activities of my team and driving efficiencies within my team and the overall operational budget.
- Performance Management – responsible for ensuring the individuals in my team understand what is expected of them to achieve optimal performance.
- Communication – responsible for owning and cascading changes and information that impacts my team, by tailoring communications to ensure they are relevant, targeted and understood.
- Commencing both temporary and permanent recruitment activities within a proactive timeframe to avoid resource deficits.
- Learning and Development – responsible for continually improving the performance, standards and capability of my team to meet today’s needs, developing for tomorrow and creating the skills to support the wider business.
- Organisational Data Management – responsible for ensuring that my organisational structure and individual people data are accurate and updated promptly on SAP HR.
- Reward & Recognition - responsible for ensuring that my team are rewarded correctly and appropriately and that they are recognised for doing a great job.
- There is a potential requirement to undertake standby as per business needs, and support any transformational change/Business Needs.
- Management experience with strong skills in operations, maintenance, engineering, Finance, H&S legislation, stakeholder engagement and customer focus.
- Degree level or equivalent. (with preferably an Engineering/Civils & Mechanical)
- Excellent people and performance management skills.
- Strong health and safety and customer-based ethic.
- First-rate financial management skills, able to demonstrate identifying and achieving financial efficiencies.
- Excellent organisational and risk management skills.
- Strong Interpersonal skills.
- Competitive salary of up to £55.000 per annum subject to your level of experience
- 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
