Worcestershire-based with extensive international travel
£35,000-£50,000 depending on your skills and experience
Our client is seeking a motivated and commercially driven Technical Sales Manager to support the continued growth of our global business. This is a key role responsible for developing new opportunities, strengthening existing customer relationships, and re-engaging lapsed accounts across international markets.
You will act as a professional ambassador for our client delivering excellent customer service, accurate quotations, and technically informed solutions in a highly competitive industry. While experience in the metals industry and/or presswork is highly desirable, it is not essential — full support and training will be provided.
This role offers long-term progression, with the opportunity to integrate into the management structure and contribute to the strategic direction of the company.
Technical Sales Manager Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Sales
- Identify and develop new business opportunities globally
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers
- Re-engage lapsed accounts to strengthen the customer base
- Attend international exhibitions (typically up to five per year)
- Prepare accurate estimates, quotations, and proposals
- Negotiate pricing, delivery, and quality within agreed parameters
- Participate in monthly sales meetings and present detailed activity reports
- Produce short visit reports following client meetings
- Monitor market trends and contribute to sales forecasting
- Support technical and sales colleagues in meeting customer requirements
- Work collaboratively across the sales team
- Introduce and manage new projects on a case-by-case basis
- Proactively drive business profitability
- Contribute to long-term growth and strategic planning
The successful Technical Sales Manager will have the following skills and experience-
- Proven experience in a technical B2B sales
- Engineering, metallurgy, or a related technical qualification preferred
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Commercially aware with a focus on profitability
- Willing and able to travel internationally on a regular basis
- Flexible approach to working hours due to global travel requirements
- International driving capability preferred
