Job Description

Pertemps are currently recruiting for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Material Controller to join a well-established warehouse in Oldbury. This role is key to ensuring smooth daily operations, accurate order processing, excellent customer service, and effective management of materials and stock levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process and manage sales orders.

  • Provide outstanding customer service, handling enquiries via phone and email.

  • Support day-to-day administrative tasks to keep operations running efficiently.

  • Monitor, chase, and help resolve outstanding invoices in collaboration with the finance team.

  • Use Sage for order processing and basic accounting functions.

  • Maintain accurate records of materials and stock levels, ensuring availability for production and sales.

  • Monitor minimum stock levels and alert management when replenishment is needed to prevent shortages.

  • Assist in coordinating with suppliers for timely delivery of materials.

  • Support inventory audits and reporting to maintain accurate stock data.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in administration, customer service, sales order processing, and material or inventory control.

  • Proficiency with Sage software.

  • Strong understanding of stock management and minimum stock levels.

  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-first approach.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in processing orders, handling invoices, and managing stock records.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

     

Hours:
Monday to Thursday 08:30am - 17:00pm
Friday 08:30am - 16:00pm

Pay Rate:
£12.50 per hour

This is a temporary position with the opportunity to go permanent after a successful trial period.
